Teddy arrived in New Zealand on the 15 February 2007! I began my search for a Swedish dog pup in 2005 and after many disappointments and set backs, Tove Gustavsson agreed to send me one of her puppies. Tove went to huge efforts to get Teddy to New Zealand, and I will always be very grateful. Teddy is the 1st Swedish Vallhund to come from Sweden to New Zealand. He is a real little Teddy bear ... cuddly & affectionate. He has taken to life as a 'Kiwi' like a duck to water, with boundless energy and enthusiasm and is adored by all who meet him. Teddy has produced Champions, Multi Group and In Show winning Vallhunds in New Zealand and Australia, as well as the only NZ Bred dual Titled Champion.

What qualities would bring to mind the movie icon John Wayne? Rugged good looks, quiet self confidence, a general can do competence perhaps. As Teddy has grown, it is his great heart and gentlemanly ways that has most prompted this comparison.

​"Ruby bounced into my life on the 12th July 2006. She is my 1st import and I owe a big thank you to her breeder, the late Leonie Darling. Ruby has the sweetest nature, is extremely intelligent and full of the joys of life with an uncompromising loyalty. She is a very precious and much loved member of our family. A proven breeder, she has produced Champions, multi Group and In show Winners in Australia and New Zealand and the only NZ bred Dual titled Champion. As well as her own successful show career, she has also produced working farm dogs, agility, search and rescue and obedience dogs "

Ruby has earned her retirement with us, organising everyone and applying her gentle discipline to puppies and grown dogs alike.
She still loves her swimming and, although she is a little slower, she still enjoys all activity and evenings on the couch.

Ricky and Teddy landed on their paws when they were adopted, together, by a lovely couple who used to race Huskies.
Now they spend their time travelling in the motorhome or in the classic convertible. Walking, swimming and playing, they are living the dream.
